The AFCON final was more than football for an average Nigerian. It was Nigeria against the rest of Africa -- the pride as the giant of Africa was at stake.
We lost, from Ghana to Cameroon to South Africa -- they all gathered to cook. Nigerians knew what was at stake, but how well did Nigerians prepare for the heat?
Over a month now since that defeat to Ivory Coast, Nigerians will lock horns with arch-rival Ghana today. We asked Nigerians to share their AFCON final experience, would they have preferred the Eagles to win the AFCON or their clubs to win the UCL, lose to South Africa or to Ghana, ad here's what they have to say.

Did you eat the night Nigeria lost to Ivory Coast? I don't play with my stomach -- so, I ate the night although I wasn't happy. I knew that the second time playing Ivory Coast wouldn't be easy... So it was 50-50 chance and we lost to Ivory Coast.
Did you cry? Of course not... I have experienced more pain compared to the night we lost the AFCON cup... Being a Chelsea fan and Super Eagles supporter has made my heart as hard as a rock.
Would you have preferred the Eagles to win the AFCON or your club to win the UCL?
Both options are part of my wish list. I'd love my club and country to win... Preferably, I want my club to win the UCL again
Would you prefer Nigeria to lose a match to Ghana or South Africa? What's the reason for your answer?
We must never lose to Ghana. During the FIFA World Cup qualifiers when we lost to Ghana, I was furious. They are our rivals. We bant ourselves with every chance we see. Aside from football, we have the jollof war, culture war.... South Africa on the other hand, came into the discussion, when Davido lost to Tyla in a Grammy Awards event and we've done our part to bant SA after they lost to us at the AFCON.

Lose to South Africa, Ghanaians are too proud for a country not larger than Oyo in Nigeria.

Yes of course, it's easy to eat, i wasn't expecting much that night, I knew the parking the bus tactics wouldn't work, they should have gone out for the second goal to kill the game but they chose to defend
