FanBants provides a weekly ranking of the top players in the English Premier League.
Here’s our list for gameweek 15:
Mohamed Salah
Last ranking: 1st
With the form he’s in, Mo Salah will likely retain his top spot for a while.
The iconic Liverpool forward has been exceptional this season. He’s been at his usual clinical best, scoring 13 goals, but he has also added creativity to his arsenal, recording 8 assists so far in this campaign.
Single-handedly rescuing Liverpool from certain defeat in the midweek clash against Newcastle, Salah deservedly tops this list.
Bukayo Saka
Last ranking: 5th
Since last week’s rankings, Bukayo Saka has put in two high-quality performances.
Two assists and a goal in the 5-2 routing of West Ham, followed by an industrious performance in the midweek victory over Manchester United, has earned Saka this spot.
Will he unseat Salah by this time next week?
Erling Haaland
Last ranking: 2nd
There’s no doubt that Erling Haaland is a phenomenal striker, but in recent weeks, he has struggled to find the back of the net.
Two goals in his last five games is not a bad return, but it is far below the standards we have come to expect from the Norwegian forward.
Haaland got an assist in the middle of the week against Nottingham Forest, but that isn’t enough to see him retain his second place spot from last week.
Nicolas Jackson
Last ranking: 7th
Enzo Maresca turned a few heads, by making the bold decision to rest Nico Jackson in their midweek game against Southampton.
Although Chelsea came out on top, the decision turned heads as Jackson has been firing on all cylinders so far this season. His tally for the season currently stands at eight goals, with three coming in his last five games.
Ange Postecoglou and his defenders need to keep an eye on him, as he has the potential to break into the top three in next week’s power rankings.
Matheus Cunha
Last ranking: 3rd
Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has endured a quiet week. The Brazilian was unable to score or assist in the home loss to a rampant Bournemouth side, and he endured the same fate against Everton in the midweek league game.
Take nothing away from Cunha, he has been a revelation this season. Scoring seven and assisting another three in only 14 games this season.
Alexander Isak
Last ranking: 8th
Alex Isak’s stock, just like his spot on this list, continues to rise. On his day, very few forwards can trouble a defence like the Swedish striker, just ask Virgil Van Dijk!
Isak scored a special goal, and turned provider for Anthony Gordon as the Magpies nearly stunned Liverpool at home on Wednesday.
He’s recorded three goals and two assists in his last five Premier League games, and there are no signs showing that he’ll slow down anytime soon.
Bryan Mbuemo
Last ranking: 4th
Bryan Mbuemo started this season like a house on fire, scoring eight goals in his first 10 appearances. However, as Brentford have struggled in the last few weeks, Mbuemo has only been able to deliver as solitary assist in his last five appearances for The Bees.
Chris Wood
Last ranking: Unranked
One of our favourite underdogs makes it back into the power rankings! Chris Wood returns after scoring the winner in a tight game against Ipswich Town.
The goals might have been few and far between in recent weeks, but you also have to consider that Forest have not had the easiest of fixtures. Nuno’s men have faced off against the likes of Manchester CIty, Newcastle, and Arsenal in recent weeks.
This weekend against Manchester United, Wood might have something special in his drawer.
Yoane Wissa
Last ranking: 6th
Just like Mbuemo before him, Wissa drops in this week’s power rankings. The Congolese forward has been able to record three goals in his last five games, but a blank last time out against Aston Villa is enough to see him drop in this list.
Brennan Johnson
Last ranking: Unranked
Goals against Fulham and Manchester City in recent weeks have earned Brennan Johnson the last spot in this week’s FanBants Power Rankings.
The former Nottingham Forest man has been a revelation for Ange Postecoglou’s side, managing to score more goals than players like Dominic Solanke, Timo Werner and Heung-min Son.
