FanBants Twitter space with Ndidi

The Leicester City and Super midfielder revealed that Mikel Obi was his football as a youngster coming through the ranks.

Wilfred Ndidi made this known when he appeared as a speaker on a Twitter space hosted by FanBants, a fantasy gaming platform where football fans compete against one another for bragging rights and cash prizes.

On his football idol as a kid, the Leicester City anchorman responded: “Mikel. Because of him, I was always fighting to get the No. 12 jersey. I have massive respect for what he did for Chelsea and the Super Eagles, and I looked up to him a lot.”

Ndidi was recently showered with praises from Paul Scholes, who described him as one of the best defensive midfielders in the game and the missing piece in the Manchester United team.

On the compliments from the United legend, Ndidi said “he’s a legend for me. He has his opinion and I’m excited when a legend says good things about me. It was a boost of confidence and I appreciated being noticed. But for me, I just want to do my thing for my club and I’m excited ahead of the new season.”

On the must-have team members he would be having in his FanBants Fantasy 11 this season, Ndidi added, “Jamie Vardy is close to the post and James Maddison is always with the ball.”

Meanwhile, Fola Folowosele, Founder & CEO of FanBants on the plans for fantasy in Nigeria, remarked: “We are happy to be bringing fantasy football across the English Premier League, Champions League, World Cup, and AFCON. These fantasy contests are fun for the fans and come with the instant gratification of weekly cash prizes. The Nigerian league is another option we are looking to explore in the future.
