The Naija Super 8 culminated in a massive final, featuring Remo Stars & Sporting Lagos - a derby that seems to have quickly gotten the Southwest Derby nickname. The maiden edition of the competition, was played in front of a sold out audience with many fans even unable to get into the stadium.
Although Remo Stars began the match with revenge on their minds, after suffering a group stage defeat to Sporting Lagos, they couldn't break the deadlock in the first half. Rather, Sporting Lagos took a lead at the 54th minute mark, after Nwokeji Emeka's dangerous cross was met by Jonathan Alukwu. Despite the best efforts of Kayode Bankole, who made a brilliant save, Sporting took the lead with a close range rebound from Salawudeen Aliu.
Adams Olamilekan, an electric 2nd half substitute, refused to let Remo lose and ultimately equalized with a goal in injury time, after his previous goal was erroneously ruled out for offside. Sporting Lagos ended up winning 4-2 on penalties with goalkeeper Nwoke Christian emerging as the hero of the night with 2 saves.

#14 Adams Olamilekan (16.25 fantasy points): Olamilekan, completely changed the trajectory of the match after coming in at the 75th minute mark. The supersub scored in the last minute of injury time to send the game to penalties. His other goal was wrongly ruled out for offside by the referee. #12 Nduka Junior (7.25 fantasy points): Nduka will be disappointed that he didn't do enough to prevent the Remo equalizer. However, he still had a decent game - he had two shots on target, 3 dangerous crosses, a tackle and 2 interceptions, which averted potential danger.
#35 Kayode Bankole (GK) (2 fantasy points): With 2 saves and 1 goal conceded, Bankole can't boast of a great performance. While he was not at fault for the goal Remo conceded, he had some shaky moments during the game, especially on a cross that led to a Sporting Lagos chance for a second goal.

#15 Nwokeji Emeka (15 points): Emeka, was sturdy in the defence for Sporting Lagos and attack as well, having 4 off-target Shots, delivered 8 dangerous crosses, 4 interceptions, 2 fouls won and a tackle won
#20 Salawudeen Aliu (15 points): Salawudeen had his best game of the tournament, scoring the much needed opener in the match. His performance earned him the man of the match award. He had 1 shot on target, 1 tackle and was fouled twice.
#27 Nwoke Christian (4 points): During the 90 minutes, Nwoke saved 3 shots and was not to blame for the last minute equalizer by Adams Olamilekan.
